Close Shave
Truth is the close shave ended with a busted Jib Boom for Salacia. Here we see the new one being skilfully fitted at dock side by Mark Abbott from Corsair Boats.

Guineas Cup – A highly varnished grudge match
Mercedes III and Pastime II will take on Couta Boats C97 and Gemfish with the winning Association determined by the best team results.
The Guineas Cup is held the evening prior to The Cup regatta run by RYCV. The format is based on 2 Classics racing 2 Coutas over 3 windward leeward races.
The Couta boats tend to do well in open water conditions when at times the Couta boats have amazed the classics by achieving a lower elapsed time around the course than the larger classics. Hence the Guineas Cup challenge.
Sorrento Opening Day 2013
2013 – 14. It has begun.
Opening day at Sorrento saw a reduced number of starters for the first aggregate race of the season. Wild weather hampered re launching boats in the weeks leading up the the big day. However, typical of Sorrento, the skies cleared for opening day and it turned out to be a great sailing day.
Great to see the boats at this end of the season looking magnificent.
