Roseta C35

Sail Number C35
Location of Boat Sorrento
Owner’s Name Adam Richards
Built Year 1935
Builder Lacco

Purchased from Max Scott of Crib Point, Roseta had undergone some changes to enable marine survey for charter purposes. She was fitted with positive buoyancy and set out for 6 adult passengers. Max was determined to teach sailing and fishing on Western Port. Unfortunately, Max’s poor health kept him from fulfilling this dream and he sadly passed away in 1998. During his thirty plus years ownership Max often sailed Roseta from Western Port to Port Phillip for the summer regattas and kept her on a mooring supplied by Tim Phillips. Max proudly and fondly displayed photos of both the Portsea Cup and the South Channel Race won by him on Roseta in previous years. There was a tear in his eye she left his maintenance shed for the last time but he was glad to know she was going to be loved. Adam & Alice have sailed Roseta with their first, second and now all three children for the past three years and have enjoyed fun sailing and regatta success in Division Two. They removed the positive buoyancy to give extra room in the boat, purchased new sails and recently removed the lead slipper replacing the ballast as lead ingots around the new centre board. Her future looks almost as glorious as her past.
